Creating change and healing in your life is possible, and seeking out a therapist is a great way to get started. Using a style that is personable, accepting and non-judgmental, my clients see me as a real person who cares about them and their concerns. I’m a native of San Diego, but studied at UC Berkeley for my Bachelor’s Degree, then lived in Chile, Brazil and Mexico before coming back to San Diego. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from SDSU in 2006. My career has been centered at various non-profits and outpatient clinics, working with adults, children, teens and the chronically ill. With more than 15 years in the mental health field, my clients have come from diverse cultural backgrounds and have had various challenges, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief & loss, past trauma, and relationship issues. My husband, father and father-in-law are veterans, giving me a personal knowledge of the military experience. In my experience, I have found that every person has unique strengths that can be used to aid in their healing. Based on what works best for each client, my approach includes the use of CBT, EMDR, DBT, mindfulness, guided imagery and art therapy. We can collaborate to find the right fit for you, and decide on goals that you feel motivated to work on.
