Welcome and Congratulations! I am glad you made it here! Just the act of looking for a therapist shows that you are making strides toward recovery! Recovery can mean a lot of different things. One goal, is to identify, what that looks like and means to you. First, let me introduce myself. My name is Naomi and I have over a decade of experience in the field of mental health. Theoretical orientations and acronyms can be confusing, especially when first starting therapy, so if this is your first time, no problem! We can go over the different treatment modalities, that I utilize and identify which orientation works best during our time together (and it could also mean, utilizing an assortment of approaches!). If you have been to therapy before, wonderful! I utilize evidence-based modalities, which include: CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy).

I have experience providing treatment to a variety of individuals and their families ranging from: youths, Transitional Aged Youths (TAY) to adults. I also have worked in a variety of settings, to include: School-based, Residential, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (OP) levels of care. I have knowledge working with dually diagnosed individuals, in addition to providing care for persons with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) and complex conditions such as: Substance Use and Eating Disorders. I have also held different positions to include: Case Manager, Therapist to Management which has enabled me to flex with the different tides that may arise in a business or therapeutic setting. I embrace the different roles I currently carry whether it is professionally or in my personal life, while being mindful to not let blessings go un-noticed. I am also a parent, so I understand the sacrifices one may take and the guilt one may feel, when missing special moments with loved ones, which can arise when working outside of the home or even while trying to take time out to practice self-care. At the same time, I am a huge advocate for following your heart and taking steps toward living a life that feels worthwhile. This may mean building or re-paving the way from scratch or even doing something that you never thought you would! Kindness, honesty, equality, inclusivity, and acceptance are a snippet of the values that are important to me and what I strive to reflect in both my professional and personal life. I hope to walk alongside you to help you discover your own personal goals for recovery!

When I am not doing therapy, you can bet I am chauffeuring my kids around town for a fantastic scenic drive throughout San Diego. Ice cream and loud squeals are in tow! When we are giving my vehicle a self-care break, we are binge watching true crime documentaries and yes, ice cream is also involved!
