Battle scars, we all have some internally and externally. Some of the “scars” may be buried, suppressed, or repressed. We push it aside to get through our days until we realize our scars starts to slip into our daily lives and affect our relationships, careers, or academics. We see the scars as weakness however, the scars show ours strengths and resilience. I believe every person has the potential to heal and grow into who they want to become. The healing process starts with a safe and therapeutic environment to help the person make the choice towards change, to peel back the band-aid to sit with the discomfort, and encourage self-compassion in order to challenge the individual to make a positive change in their life.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family therapist and have been working with individuals, children, adolescents, and families since 2015 with a variety of issues ranging from disruption in the living situation, family system, to traumatic experiences. I am trained and certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals process and overcome their painful traumatic experiences. I also utilize Experiential Family Therapy, Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Attachment Based therapy to adjust my lens to the individuals, children, adolescents, or family needs.
I believe in empowering the individual to voice their experiences and needs in order to facilitate positive change and optimal therapeutic experience.
